Life can be overwhelming.
At Besu, we combat the complexities of a life with a simple framework of list of five core tenants that keep us grounded, motivated and moving forward.
No magic tricks or Instagram quotes. Just five practical focus points to keep your life on track, no matter what comes your way.
1. Be Healthy.
Your body is the vehicle you take through life. If it breaks down, everything else falls apart. Move your body. Drink more water. Sleep like it’s your job. You don’t need a perfect diet or a six-pack. Just aim for sustainable habits that keep you feeling good most of the time.
2. Be Focused.
Your attention is your most valuable currency. Don’t let every notification or email take it away from you. Focus on what actually matters. Start by saying “no” more often. Block time for deep work. And please, stop trying to multitask — it never works.
3. Be Connected.
Life’s best moments are shared. Nurture your relationships. Make time for the people who matter. Call your parents. Text your friends. Meet someone for coffee instead of scrolling social media. The people in your life are your safety net when things get tough.
4. Be Adaptable.
Nothing stays the same forever. The world changes. Jobs change. People change. You change. Learn to roll with it. Don’t cling to plans that no longer make sense. Be open to learning and growing. And remember, failing isn’t the opposite of success — it’s part of it.
5. Be Grateful.
Gratitude isn’t about toxic positivity. It’s about noticing the good in your life, even on hard days. Be grateful for the people, moments, and little wins. It’s hard to be miserable when you’re genuinely thankful.
6. Be Mindful.
Mindfulness is your super power against all the ads and naughty distractions. The key to mindfulness is about doing one thing at a time (multi-tasking is bad, mmkay), appreciating the small things, remembering to breath and enjoying the day for what it is – another day you get to enjoy this little green ball.
And that’s it. Those are our six tenants. Real, simple, and practical. No fluff. Just six areas of focus that help us avoid those life complexities that weigh us all down.
And this is just the start. We’ll expand on each of these in upcoming tips and newsletters, always focused on real, practical and simple tips you can use everyday.
